Didn't think about how that would be an issue when I want to actually put a King size in it. Oh well. maybe I'll add on to it then.Jane @ The Borrowed Abodehttp://www.theborrowedabode.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2024947819237354561.post-73150456694802589462011-02-10T15:03:30.760-08:002011-02-10T15:03:30.760-08:00I'm excited to see what you do with the dresse...I'm excited to see what you do with the dressers. Painting furniture is a great way to give it a new lease on life.

I think your ideas sound great! I think all it needs is some new textiles and accessories- should be a pretty easy makeover!

Jane- You are SO right about IKEA's slipcovers. They are way cheap and would be perfect. My only issue is, they are slightly different than the US sizes I think! I need to do some research, but the queen sized duvet that I bought there last year was too small to fit our queen sized comforter! I made it work by using a different (smaller) comforter inside. Maybe getting the King sized one would work... hmm, you got me thinking!Mikalahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10874204831019678609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2024947819237354561.post-25758596996770732492011-02-10T11:32:47.515-08:002011-02-10T11:32:47.515-08:00Well, you know that my bedroom got 90% of its make...Well, you know that my bedroom got 90% of its makeover last summer. But there's still things I'd like to do. The problem is - I can't find the time! :)

I feel like your bedroom has potential for easy updates. I can't wait to see what you do!

Oh, and before you slipcover your comforter, you may want to check out Ikea's duvet covers. They're so cheap that they are often cheaper than making your own. I got a king size white one and then altered it (from the inside) to fit it to our queen size. But then, when we get a king bed (hopefully next month) I can rip the seams out and it's back to being king-size. And now I'm rambling...Jane @ The Borrowed Abodehttp://www.theborrowedabode.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2024947819237354561.post-91011269936810501722011-02-10T10:05:14.968-08:002011-02-10T10:05:14.968-08:00These sound like great simple upgrades that will t...These sound like great simple upgrades that will totally make the most of your space and items you already love, but just need an extra bit of TLC!

great plan! <3 can't wait to see the outcome!

xoXOxo
Jenn @ Peas & CrayonsJenn @ Peas and Crayonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14502661336533003529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2024947819237354561.post-50978522542073971552011-02-10T08:58:19.998-08:002011-02-10T08:58:19.998-08:00i love those lamps, too, and your old dresser. it...i love those lamps, too, and your old dresser. it's those legs! yay for redoing the bedroom, i hated that ours was such an afterthought. i'm at a good place with it now, except for furniture. can't wait to see your changes!the cape on the cornerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01283196154486318371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2024947819237354561.post-62668307449729264502011-02-10T08:27:30.203-08:002011-02-10T08:27:30.203-08:00Oh my goodness, too funny! We have a hamper that Josh bought in college too, it's falling apart but still manages to hold the laundry. =)Mikalahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10874204831019678609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2024947819237354561.post-9052393072797397492011-02-10T06:41:38.383-08:002011-02-10T06:41:38.383-08:00Um. And our closet is about 3.5 feet wide, so the hampers have to stay out in the room itself...and one of them is that blue pop-up hamper Nick bought as a college freshman. So yeah...we're pretty desperate for an update.Cindy @The Flipping Couplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13830938432043057496noreply@blogger.com
