Oh Spring, Where Art Thou?

Sometimes, you just need a change. I've been thinking about chopping my locks pretty short for a while, but in reality I know that I'm not ready to party with my long hair just yet.

So, this little haircut was the next best thing! My mom is my personal stylist (she's amazing, and self-taught), and I pretty much told her to take off 1 1/2 inches and do whatever she wanted. I just wanted a change! I really love what she did.

Do you know how hard it is to get a picture of the back of your head? I feel like I should try out for Cirque Du Soleil with all the acrobatics it took me to get this photo...

Ahh. Much better. Do you ever make a change and then wonder what took you so long to do it? Me too. All the time. So, I would encourage you to take a small step this week. Try a new color of nailpolish, buy a cute outfit that is fun and different, try a new flavor of coffee. I promise you, it will make all the difference in the world!

  1. I love the new haircut! I'm in desperate need of one! So sorry I haven't been around much. I swear I've been reading :) Life sort of took this crazy turn for awhile, which means I should definitely take you up on that challenge!

  2. It looks great! I love it! And do you have freckles? That's just adorable :-) And speaking of short hair--you should do it! I bet you'd look great with the Katie Holmes haircut from your outfit inspiration post the other day. And if you hate it, hey, it grows back :-)

  4. Christina- Thanks! Ah, no worries. Life happens. I still visit your site too, although I haven't seen an update for a while! Hint hint. =)

Rachel- Yes, I do have freckles! Short hair would be super fun. I wish my skin was better, for some reason I feel like I need to have flawless skin to have short hair! Your hair is SO cute.

Cindy- Thanks, I think so too! I love having my mom do my hair. I definitely trust her enough to just let her do (almost) whatever she wants. Kinda fun for a change!

  6. It looks great! I recently lost about 4 inches. It felt good! There was just too much hair. It dries faster. It looks thicker. It's been a much needed change!

  7. Hi Mikalah
Love your hair. I'm trying to persevere with growing mine but could do with a change. Am thinking of going a bit lighter but then I think of Kate Middleton and think no stay a brunette.
Can't believe your Grandpa is from Glasgow. What a small world. I lived there for 10 years and all my family are still there. You have to come and visit your roots in Scotland if you haven't already been.
I like your kitchen makeover. I painted my old wooden kitchen a few years ago but it was time for a whole new look now.
    Love

  9. Ruby- Thanks so much! I do love having layers, it makes for a more sassy haircut. =)

Ashley- Wow, 4 inches! That is a lot! I only cut off about 1 1/2 but it sure felt like more.

Lori- Yes, isn't that cool! It's so fun to "meet" someone from my Grandpa's homeland. I'm so glad to find you here! I haven't been to Scotland yet but it's a huge dream of mine. I need to meet my extended family! Thanks for the sweet comment. I look forward to seeing your kitchen makeover when it's finished!

Jane- haha, me too! I don't think I've ever paid for a haircut in my life. So spoiled!
