Vacation Checklist

We are going on vacation for the first time EVER as a married couple this Summer! I am so excited I could just scream. But, I won't because I don't want to frighten the neighbors.

Our destination: Virginia Beach.

Of course, before I go on vacation I have a little list of things to accomplish. Some may be more attainable than others, but a girl can dream, right? So without further ado, here's a few of my checklist items:

  • Get a sunkissed glow without baking in the sun. We'll see how that goes, since I'm deathly allergic to some self-tanners.
  • Lose 5 pounds (ha.... ha).
  • Pull together a cute, beachy wardrobe using things I already have.
  • Plan an awesome music playlist for the car ride there (18 hours!).
  • Find a cute, floppy hat to ward off unwanted sunbeams (at this point, I'm wondering how ANY sunbeams could be unwanted!).
  • Research places to stop along the way for ultimate Road-Trip Fun.

Also, I think I might need this dress:

So that is my Summer Vacation Checklist so far! I'm sure there will be more to add as the departure time gets closer. Do you have any Summer vacations planned? What would you add to a To-Do list for the perfect vacation? I would love to hear your thoughts!

  1. Cute floppy hats are a must --- I'm in need of one myself. I'm excited for your first vacation! We'll be taking a weekend trip in July for our anniversary and we're excited too; first "vacation" since our honeymoon!

Have fun! I can't wait to read about it :)

  3. Christina- Yes, they are a must! You'll have to let me know if you find a good one. Fun! Sounds like you guys have a nice trip to look forward to as well!

Jane- Yay! I really hope it works out to come visit you! It would be SO fun to meet you in person!

  4. So fun!! We're flying out to Boston (annual tradition!) in July, but we're planning a roadtrip for the Fall. Fingers crossed we actually make it happen this year...it's the same one that got crossed out last year in favor of building a fence. Which was fun and all, but not quite the same as a vacation. : )

  6. Fun! I can just imagine you driving along in your adorable dress, floppy hat, huge shades and perhaps even a flowing scarf. Retro glam at its best! :)
We had grand plans for a road trip to visit family and friends on the west coast in July. Plans have changed in the last couple weeks so it looks like that one will be postponed. Short weekend getaways will suffice for this year.

  7. Cindy- Oh, I really hope your road trip happens! It's nice to have a fence and all, but the memories of a fun trip will last a lifetime. =)

jenn- Awesome! I will have to check those out! thanks for the heads up.

Kirsti- Haha, I'm totally envisioning that now! In reality, it will probably be me dressed in sweatpants, T-Shirt with Starbucks coffee in hand and a bored expression on my face. But, we can imagine, right? Aw, that road trip sounds fun! Hopefully it can happen for you at some point. Weekend trips are a blast too! It's just nice to get away sometimes and see some new sights!

  9. Get the dress - it is gorgeous and can be dressed up or down.
Before I go away I write lists of my lists.

  10. Kristi- Haha, I love it! LOL

Lori- SO true! I do love it... however, it's a little spendy. =( Maybe I can find a thriftier version! Your new kitchen seems like such a lovely place to spend the Summer in. I'm sure your cooking will improve, because it will be so much more fun to cook in there!

  11. We just got back from Florida and I told Ted that I HAD to have a floppy hat before we left. I got mine at Target--cream and gold stripes, so cute, and not that expensive! Have fun!
